Its been a very long time since I last updated the blog because of internship and this will be the last time.
Anyway, KCC will be having our Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2011 this coming week.
As its our last KCC session for 2011, it will be different from the usual session that we have. Also it will be an exciting evening as there would be live performances. Its a surprise as to what would be happening. Light refreshments would be provided & CCA points would be given too!!!

Eligibility
- Open to all existing Ngee Ann students and Secondary school students in Singapore
- Participants must be within age range of 13-25 years
- All performing groups must have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 members

Terms and Conditions
- Only KPOP dance allowed
- NP Korean Cultural Club will not be held responsible for any injuries/deaths resulting from the performance
- NP Korean Cultural Club is authorized to use any part of the competition (including pictures and videos from the competition) for any purpose under the club
- Profanity or vulgar lyrics are not allowed in any vocal performance or dance music
- Performance attire must be kept at a respectable and tasteful level. Nudity is not allowed.
- Pyrotechnics, open flames or any other dangerous additions are not allowed
- Sound Technician and microphone(s) will be provided. You must provide your own CD music, taped music, instruments, props, keyboard, etc., if needed

CAMP IS ROUND THE CORNER! I know you all must have been very excited for it right ?? ^^

So here are the details:

Camp Dates: 31st Aug - 2nd Sep 2011

Assemble Time & Location : 10 am sharp @ Lt 51B

Attire : Dark color t-shirt with slippers!

* We will be leaving our belongings in the Lecture hall and check in at around 2pm!

Things to bring:

- 4 set of dark color clothing ( as we will be playing some dirty games :D )

- 4 set of undergarments

- Towel

- Slipper

- Comfortable covered shoes ( as we will be running around a lot )

- Toiletries

- Toothbrush and toothpaste!!!!

- Water bottle

- Umbrella/Poncho

- Torch Light

- Medication ( optional )

- EZ-Link Card with at least $10 value in it ( we will be travelling outside for games! )

- Sufficient Cash if you want to buy any snack to eat

* You may choose to bring your valuables such as laptop and mobile phone, but we will not be held responsible for any missing items.

For those of you who have already registered for the Dance audition this coming Wednesday and Saturday, here are the details ,

First audition will be held on 25th May (Wednesday), 6-9pm
Second audition will be on 28th May (Saturday), 11am-3pm.

*Please be PUNCTUAL for all audition! (:

DRESS CODE: DANCE ATTIRE
*Strictly no slippers.

Procedure for the audition(This is how it's goes..... )

Firstly, participants will be given a number tag. (Based on 1st come 1st served)

Secondly, you guys will be taught a 30-45 sec choreo dance.
(NO FREESTYLE REQUIRED for this audition.)

Thirdly, after learning, participants will have 10 min to prepare for the audition.
*Participants will be group for the actual audition.

Anyhooo, the first 2 days of next week is CCA Fiesta. It's when the new Year 1 students come in & choose their CCAs (which you guys have gone through last year).
So, we will be opening our own KCC booth & we would like to open the tending of the booth to all of you!

Korean Food Themed Chalet

안녕!!!

I have made this announcement on our Korean Food Themed Chalet yesterday during the session.

In case you missed it, basically we are going to a kimchi and kimbap making session incorporated with bonding session. As you might have known, making of kimchi and kimbap need proper kitchen equipment, therefore we are holding it in chalet where we can learn how to make kimchi and kimbap as well as bonding among us. Killing two birds in one stone!

The details of the chalet is as follows

Day:Thursday
Date:24th June 2010-25th June 2010( if you are staying overnight)
Venue:Pasir Ris
Cost: Estimated $15-$20( Price will differ accordingly if you are staying overnight)

I know it is a bit expensive, since chalet is expensive and Korean Food are not that cheap either.
I think for kimchi it is non halal, but for the rest we will make it halal. So for Muslims, you can come and join us too ^^

I am sure that you are already aware of the KCC (tentative) performance group. Regarding the issue, we have decided to provide you the opportunities to join dance classes, so as to be prepared for any performances in the future. However, this is NOT compulsory! You can decide whether you want to join the dance classes after reading this post THOROUGHLY.

Price: $60/month (once per week; 2hours per session; total of 8hours)

THIS IS STRICTLY FOR NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC KOREAN CULTURE CLUB MEMBERS, WHO CAN COMMIT FOR AT LEAST 6MONTHS.

Yes, you will need to pay for your dance classes. The school will not provide any subsidy as we are not a performance club. However, this rate is considerably cheap compared to the rates given outside (nearly half price). This rate is a special discount provided ONLY for us, after much negotiation.

Hi people!

Registration for the One Day Bonding Camp is CLOSED.

For those who had signed up, One Day Bonding Camp is going to be held this Saturday, 8th May.

In less than 3 days, you will be having fun and making friends with people of the same interest. Aren't you excited?

We will be meeting you guys at
10am at LT50 (near Makan Place).

The camp should end around 5pm.

Before all the fun, here are some things that you should take note of before you come.

1. Wear comfortably!
2. Bring sufficient money for lunch.
3. Do bring water bottle since the stupid weather in Singapore is so damn hot now.
4. You are encouraged to bring extra shirt to change after the whole camp as you will be perspiring.
5. Do not bring valuables like laptop etc.

PS. If you are not attending the camp for any reason, please do tell us via email(cca_korean@connect.np.edu.sg) as it could help us with our planning, or else we will be assuming that you are coming.

It's me again. Since it's my month (June), I get to talk more! Yay~

Well, in case some of you might be wondering, the movie screening on 1st June was our last session of the term (cues 'awww~').

But fret not, KCC will return promptly after the term break.

Meanwhile, here's a list of things for you to do during the month of June:

Catch Blood: The Last Vampire starring the gorgeous Jeon Ji-hyun. Movie premieres 4th June in local cinemas
Great Singapore Sale! (need i say more?) From 29th May to 26th July
FT Island's Singapore Showcase (cues fangirl screams) on 27th June

And of course our term papers. *sigh*

All the best to those with assignment deadlines or common tests coming up!

KCC welcomes June with a new look! We've adopted a cleaner, simpler, minimalistic approach to our blog layout.

The Korean character 꽃 on the banner means 'flower', and it's our unofficial theme of the month (yay~^^) There's a lot of 'flower' in Korean culture (think Boys Before Flowers, the plum blossoms in Iljimae, Korean flower cards etc.)

And I'm sure you've noticed, we've removed the imeem music player (we know how irritating it can be, especially when you forgot to mute your laptop in class/lectures and the music starts blaring out...), as well as the tagboard (there's really not much use for it now, since we have the forum).

Oh, and you need the flash player to be able to view the banner.

The font used in this site is Gulim. It's a Korean font that's used extensively in many Korean websites. You can download it here.

안녕하세요!

We are going to learn how to count in korean for our next session! You are strongly encouraged to download the slides to your com or print it out for easy referencing during the session. This is very important because we will be using numbers alot in subsequent lessons.

Notice that there are romaji for this week's slides. It is because I received feedback that it's difficult to learn without romaji. However, I strongly encourage everyone to learn to read hangeul without romaji. It will help alot in learning korean.

Note: Please read through previous session's slides. I may call out someone out to recap some stuffs with us! I may prepare cookies for people who participate! =)

Annyeong Members!

This is a reminder that there will be no session held at LT5A tomorrow 25th May 2009.

Members who signed up for the Kimchi making event tomorrow do report to Canteen 1 by 630pm, we would be starting punctually! Remember to bring your medium sized container for you to pack your kimchi!

The next KCC session is on 1st June 2009! All are welcome to attend!
