Movie Session

Hello everyone! Hope you guys are coping well with your revisions and rushing to meet your project deadlines! Feeling stressed out? Don’t be! It’s time to take an hour or two off to relax. For instance, you can catch a movie! And that will bring us to the purpose of this blog post today: COMEDY MOVIES RECOMMENDATION!

One of the most recent comedy movies would be SpellBound!

The main leads are Son Yejin and Lee Min Ki (yes that hot actor that appeared for a while in the k-drama, Shut Up! Flower Boy Band). This movie is about Yeo-ri (Son Yejin) who has the ability to see ghosts, and when they do appear, unexpected things occur to the people around her. Jogoo (Lee Min Ki) acts as a street magician in the movie and he offers Yeo-ri a job in his show – act as a ghost in a closet. Yeo-ri is sort of a loner in the movie and Jogoo’s attempts in approaching her are really entertaining as funny things happen to them in the process. This movie mixed the genres (comedy, horror & romance) really well, do give it a try and laugh off all your stress!

Speedy Scandal is also another heartwarming yet hilarious movie you shouldn’t miss!

How can you not watch Cha Tae Hyun’s works? His acting is brilliant and this movie is not an exception! In Speedy Scandal, Cha Tae Hyun acts as a wealthy bachelor who suddenly became a father and a grandfather when a young lady named Jeong-nam Hwang (Bo-yeong Park) appears at his doorstep with her son Ki Dong. Jeong-nam threatens to go to the media so he is left with no choice but to allow the young lady and her son to stay in his apartment. Complications arise when they are spotted outside together and people assume they are romantically involved!

If you still remember, one of Cha Tae Hyun’s works is Hello Ghost. We screened it during one of the KCC sessions! If you enjoyed Hello Ghost, why not give this movie a try?

There is a lot of amazing movies nowadays but I’m just going to recommend this two for now!
It’s quite obvious what we’re going to do for the next session now. So, if you were too tired from your projects and want to take a break, yes, it’ll be all about Korean movies!
So, do come and enjoy the movie with us!

Korean Horror!

친구야 안녕!!

I'm sure most of you are very busy with your school assignments and your revising by now! (Been there, done that!) I know exams are important, but don't stress yourselves. Let's relax at times, shall we? Have a cup of tea or watch movies to calm your senses.

As you guys know, there is NO KCC session next week. However, it doesn't hinder you to have a good time! Here is some KOREAN HORROR/THRILLER MOVIES recommendations for you if you decide to take a break from studying and have a good (cough) *creepy* time. So, let's see..

1. The Cat
The Cat (2011-Korean Movie)-p1.jpg

Remember our lovely Park Min Young (Sungkyunkwan Scandal, City Hunter, Time Slip Dr. Jin)? Yes, she is starring in this movie as So-Yeon, a girl who works at a pet shop where she has to adopt a cat whose owner died in a mysterious accident. And from then on, the nightmare will begin...

So, boys and girls, if you like cats, you SHOULD watch this movie! It may change your perception about this "lovely" creature. *evil grin*

2. I Saw the Devil

This movie is totally for those who are into some actions, blood and gruesome images! The protagonist of the movie is Lee Byung Hun (Iris, G.I Joe), Korea's top actor. Here, he acts as a secret agent (again) who tracks down a serial rapist/murderer who mutilated his fiancée. While this movie has earned a lot of movie awards and nominations, I don't recommend those with weak hearts to watch this! Honestly, the story line is pretty disturbing although the actors/actresses have amazing acting!

3. The Case of Itaewon Homicide

Finally a movie based on true story! It's South-Korea's most famous cold-case file where two American teenagers are suspected to kill a Korean college student. It's referred as random "American Gang Style" killing. Both of the suspects were later released in 1999. 10 years after the murder, the case was reopened. Upon the renewed interest of the case, a blockbuster called The Case of Itaewon Homicide was released starring Jang Geun Seok and Shin Seung Hwan as Arthur Patterson and Edward Lee respectively. In this movie, Jang Geun Seok will speak in English and it will totally put him in different light from his usual cold-but-kind roles.

So guys, have fun watching and don't forget study, okay?
See you in the next KCC session!

Cheers,
Putie

Korean Cartoon

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

This week entry is an exceptional one!
Why? It's because one of our newly established probation committee members is the author of it!
But, we are not gonna reveal any name just yet, be sure to come to next week session to know more about them. :)
So, sit back and enjoy!

Hey guys! So this time, let’s talk about Korean cartoon! Okay to get things started, who knows about Korean games? Yes, darlings. They include the classic StarCraft and Maplestory (maybe a little to classic). While we all know that Korean video games are very (insanely) successful, do you know that… The Simpsons, Family Guy and Justice League Ultimate were completely drawn and produced in South Korea?!

So if you’re in the animation works, maybe one day you’ll be working in a Korean firm and producing all these amazing animations! Notable mentions from the music section will be 2NE1 and B.A.P. From 2NE1, the music video for their song Hate You was completely animated.

Watch here if you haven't heard it!

Whereas B.A.P has a comic/manga series out since their debut, with the animated cartoon supporting it’s promotions for their latest dong Goodbye

But maybe the most popular one remains as Pororo the Little Penguin!

AWWWWWW because it's Korean it out-cutes Hello Kitty okay.

Remember y'all!!
